If \(y = 4x - 1\), list the range of the domain \({-2 \leq x \leq 2}\), where x is an integer.

  • A. {-9, -1, 2,3, 4}
  • B. {-9, -2, 0, 1, 7}
  • C. {-5, -4, -3, -2}
  • D. {-9, -5, -1, 3, 7}

Correct Answer: D. {-9, -5, -1, 3, 7}

Explanation

The elements of x are {-2, -1, 0, 1, 2}

\(y = 4x - 1\) = 4(-2) - 1 = -9; 4(-1) - 1 = -5; 4(0) - 1 = -1; 4(1) - 1 = 3; 4(2) - 1 = 7.

The range of x is {-9, -5, -1, 3 7}.
