Solve: 8\(^{x - 2}\) = 4\(^{3x}\)

  • A. -2
  • B. -1
  • C. 1
  • D. 2

Correct Answer: B. -1

Explanation

8\(^{x - 2}\) = 4\(^{3x}\)

2\(^{3(x - 2)}\) = 2\(^{2(3x)}\)

2 \(^{3x - 4}\) = 2\(^{6x}\)

2 \(^{x - 4}\) = 6\(^x\)

\(\frac{-4x}{-4}\) = \(\frac{4}{-4}\)

x = -1
