If \(log_{10}(3x+1) + log_{10}4 = log_{10}(9x+2)\), find the value of x

  • A. \(\frac{1}{3}\)
  • B. 1
  • C. 2
  • D. 3

Correct Answer: C. 2

Explanation

\(log_{10}(3x+1) + log_{10}4 = log_{10}(9x+2)\)

\(log_{10}4(3x+1) = log_{10}(9x+2)\)

4(3x+1) = 9x + 2

12x -4 = 9x + 2

12x - 9x = 2 + 4

3x = 6

x = 2
