Three forces \(F_{1} = (8 N, 300°), F_{2} = (6 N, 090°)\) and \(F_{3} = (4 N, 180°)\) act on a particle. Find the vertical component of the resultant force.

  • A. 2 N
  • B. 10 N
  • C. \((4 + 4\sqrt{3})N\)
  • D. \((6 - 4\sqrt{3})N\)

Correct Answer: D. \((6 - 4\sqrt{3})N\)

Explanation

The vertical component = \(8 \sin 300 + 6 \sin 90 + 4 \sin 180\)

= \(-4\sqrt{3} + 6 + 0 \)

= \((6 - 4\sqrt{3}) N\)
