Peter’s teaching on interpersonal relationship among Christians. (1 Peter 5:1-11)

Explanation

Candidates are required to state that;

1. Peter exhorts elders of the church to tend the flock willingly and not by constraint.

2. The elders are to care for the flock, not for any gain but eagerly.

3. They are not to be domineering over those in their charge.

4. Instead, they are to set good examples for the flock to emulate.

5. Peter made the elders aware that when the chief shepherd appears, they will obtain the unfading crown of glory.

6. Peter also admonished the younger ones in the church to be subject to the elders.

7. According to Peter, Christians should clothe themselves with humility towards one another.

8. As God opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble.

9. Peter further advised the younger ones to humble themselves under God’s mighty hand.

10. And in due time, the Lord will exalt them.

11. Peter also advised Christians to cast all their anxieties on the Lord.

12. He asked Christians to resist the devil and he would flee from them.

13. Finally, they should stand firm in their faith for the enemy was always seeking an opportunity to attack them.

14. Peter encouraged Christians to endure suffering in such a way that the grace of God would be manifested in their lives.

15. He said that Christian suffering would last only for a while but the glory of Christ would be eternal.
