A swimming pool is 2.1m deep. If it contains water of refractive index 1.3, calculate the apparent depth of pool

  • A. 3.4m
  • B. 2.7m
  • C. 1.6m
  • D. 0.8m

Correct Answer: C. 1.6m

Explanation

n = \(\frac{\text{real depth}}{\text{apparent depth}}\)

1.3 = \(\frac{2.1}{\text{apparent}}\)

A.D = \(\frac{2.1}{1.3} = 1.6\)
