The pressure of a fixed mass of an ideal gas at 27°C is 3 pa. The gas is heated at a constant volume until its pressure is 5 pa. Determine the new temperature of the gas.

  • A. 100oC
  • B. 227oC
  • C. 273oC
  • D. 500oC

Correct Answer: B. 227oC

Explanation

\(\frac{P_1}{T_1} = \frac{P_2}{T_2} = \frac{3}{300} = \frac{5}{T_2}\)

T\(_2\) = 500°C

°C = 500 - 273 = 227°
