A body is rotating in a horizontal circle of radius 2.5m with an angular speed of 5 rad s-1. Calculate the magnitude of the radial acceleration of the body

  • A. 62.50ms-2
  • B. 31.25ms-2
  • C. 12.50ms-2
  • D. 10.00ms-2

Correct Answer: C. 12.50ms-2

Explanation

\(\alpha = \frac{W_2 - W_1}{t} = \frac{5}{1} = 5 rad\)/s2

9 = \(\alpha\)r

= 5 x 2.5 = 12.50m\s2
