A projectile is fired at an angle of 30° to the horizontal with a velocity of 40 m/s Calculate the velocity attained after 1 s. [g = 10 m/s\(^2\)]

Explanation

Calculation of velocity: V = √[V\(^2\)x + V\(^2\)\(_y\)]

V\(_x\) = 40 Cos30 = 34.6 m/s

V\(_y\) = 40 sin30 - 10(1) = 10 m/s

V = √[34.6\(^2\) + 10\(^2\)]

V = 36.02m/s
