(i) electrolyte;

(ii) electrodes;

(iii) substances deposited on the electrodes

(b)State the ratio of the volume of the substances deposited in (a) (iii) above

Explanation

(a) (i) Electrolyte = dilute tetraoxosulphate (vi) acid

(ii) Electrode = platinum

(iii) Hydrogen and oxygen are deposited at the cathode and anode respectively.

(b) Volume of hydrogen is twice that of oxygen.
