(a) Plane polarized waves are:

(i) radio waves

(ii) x-rays.

(iii) infrared radiation etc

(b) Application of plane polarized light

– To reduce glare from reflecting surfaces.

– In sunglasses to reduce the intensity of incident sunlight.

– To determine sugar solution concentration etc.
