If \(\frac{2}{x-3}\) - \(\frac{3}{x-2}\) = \(\frac{p}{(x-3)(x -2)}\), find p.

  • A. 5 - x
  • B. - (x + 5)
  • C. 13 - x
  • D. - (5x - 13)

Correct Answer: A. 5 - x

Explanation

\(\frac{2}{x-3}\) - \(\frac{3}{x-2}\)

= \(\frac{2(x -2) -3(x - 3)}{(x-3)(x -2)}\)

= \(\frac{2x -4 -3x + 9}{(x-3)(x -2)}\)

= \(\frac{5 - x}{(x-3)(x -2)}\)
