Find the nth term of the sequence 4, 10, 16 ,...

  • A. 2(3n- 1)
  • B. 2(2 + 3n-1)
  • C. 2n + 2
  • D. 2(3n+2)

Correct Answer: A. 2(3n- 1)

Explanation

\(T_{1} = 4; T_2 = 10; T_3 = 16\)

\(T_{2} - T_1 = T_3 - T_1 = 6\)

\(T_n = a + (n - 1) d\)

= \(4 + (n - 1) \times 6\)

= \(4 + 6n - 6\)

= \(6n - 2\)

= 2(3n - 1)
