How has Nigeria shown that Africa is the centre-piece of her foreign policy?

How Nigeria has shown that Africa is the Centre-piece of her foreign policy:

(i)Unity and Solidarity:Nigeria has for long been promoting the unity and solidarity of African States. This experience is at both the regional and international communities.

(II)Friendship: Nigeria has worked towards promoting and strengthening friendly relations with African States.

(iii) Eradication of colonialism and racism: Nigeria has done these by supporting movements in some countries against colonial rule and racism or apartheid policy in South Africa, e.g SWAPO in Namibia, MPLA in Angola and ANC in South Africa.

(iv)Promotion of peace: Nigeria has been taking part in conflict resolutions and in peace. -keeping operations, e.g Liberia, Sierra-Leone.

(v)Resolution of conflicts :Africans are capable of resolving their conflicts without outside or external influence. This is what Nigeria stands for in its foreign policy objective

(vi)Diplomatic Missions:It has succeeded in establishing more diplomatic missions in Africa by opening up more embassies and consulates.

(vii)Democracy: Nigeria is encouraging African countries to renounce dictatorship and enthrone democratic rule.

(viii)Relationship: Nigeria is not ready to relate further with countries supporting or encouraging aggression and racism on the African Continent. Less-Fortunate Countries: Nigeria is at the forefront of promoting love and spirit of brotherhood among African states through giving of aids and assistance
