(ii) If sodium hydroxide solution were added to a solution of a strong acid, what would happen to the pH of the solution?

(b) Give one example of each of the following:

(i) acidic oxide

(ii) acid salt.

(a)(i) pH is a measure of the acidity or alkalinity of a solution.

(ii) The pH of the acids solution would increase

(b)(i) Example of acidic oxide is sulphur (IV) oxide (SO\(_2\))

(ii) Example of acid salt is sodium hydrogen tetraoxosulphate(VI)
